WELCOME TO THE MIDWAY CLUB
Established in 1970 as a monthly luncheon club, it`s aim is to bring together in the most convivial of surroundings Executives who are involved in the Insurance Industry. Over time several Members have retired from active work, but they are still most welcome to retain full membership of the group and participate in its activities. Membership embraces not only those employed directly with Insurance Companies and Brokers, but professionals employed in allied fields such as the Law, Assessors, Risk Managers and so on.
The essence of the Club is the good fellowship the luncheons engender, for they are invariably laughter-filled with one of the highlights being a `fines session` where Members are fined for real or imaginary misdemeanors. As a result, existing relationships are strengthened and friends made of business rivals and service providers. Social functions with wives and partners are also arranged, including dinners, sporting events and occasional weekends away.
It is a priority for Members to invite guests to our luncheons, particularly if they are from overseas or interstate, and if they become residents of Melbourne then subsequent membership can assist new arrivals to their families to settle into their new environment.
